Hi,  new to the forum so please go easy on me.

Did a search, came up empty.  With Christmas shopping season starting, customers are asking for a second, "gift receipt" that does not show pricing info.

How to product those?

Secondly, how is a partial refund situation handled in POS?   No problem giving full refunds if an item is returned, but how to do a partial one with the customer retaining their purchase?

Microsoft has a knowledge base article and downloadable gift receipt format in CustomerSource - please check out those.

Regarding partial return - no problem, just recal the complete transaction for return and delete from it those items that are being retained.

Thanks, I'll check out the downloadable. By partial refund I didn't mean a refund of one item of a purchase, but partial refund of an item's cost.

For example, customer buys something for $100, two weeks later it's on sale for $75 and customer asks for $25 back. So we want to be able to give the customer the sale price without pretending that the customer returned the item, got a full refund, then purchased the item again at the lower price.

I'd say, create a non-inventory item called "Refund" (or something) with $0 price, and use it in a sperate transaction with negative dollar value equal to the refund amount. I the transaction details record the number of the original transaction the refund applies to and a narrative. Or us a special reason code for future reporting.
