We just opened a store and installed an older version of RMS, it came from a store I closed a year ago. It is a valid proper licensed copy bought from a reseller in Michigan.
We installed it then used a backup up from the previous store. We then added all out new info, backed it up and left for the night. When my guy came back in the morning he could not connect to the databas. So we removed RMS, reinstalled and installed the new backup.
Now the machine keeps telling him that it will expire as it is a trial version. The dongle is plugged into a USB slot.
Any help is appreciated

Make sure the dongle driver is installed correctly. Open My Computer - Device Manager and see if there are any "unrecognized device" (with yellow or red flag). If that's the case, right mouse click on the item, select "Reinstall driver" and let it search (the driver must be on RMS installation CD or in the RMS install directory on the hard drive). Also, rebooting the computer sometimes helps. Better yet, upgrade to the new version 2.0 . :-) |
