I serve food in my business. I want to create a combination of food items already listed, have stock items (cokes, bottle tea, etc.) removed from inventory, and discount the combo as a special. The assembly seems to be the only solution in this case. I've created some test cases and was able to modify sub items of the assembly modifying the special and making it a child to the parent so inventory would be removed. In modifying my register keyboard entries I cannot find a way to have only the high level assembly name appear with a price so that my servers are not confused. I would also like to add more the one item (coke, 7up, diet coke, diet 7up) so that there would be a choice given to the server for that customers order.
If anyone has created such a listing, I would or a template I would like to hear from you. Thanks for any input

Assembly items by there nature shows all items seperately on the screen and receipt. You could use Kit items to limit the view to the servers but this would not accomplish the ability to build the combo on the screen, you would have to have preset buttons for every item. You could try using the drilldown html attached to a custom buttom to accommodate the shear quantity of items this would be needed.
It really sounds like you need to have a restaurant POS system to provide you with the prompting and controls required for food.
You reaaly need a custom addin for this kind of sales processing. There was a company in the UK that was working on a solution to accomplish this type of Food Service with RMS. I don't remeber the name though.
