I help run a computer repair store and I have to log in computers using RMS. We've used RMS since 2004. Our software hasn't really changed.
I print item tags to identify computers to be serviced using an Excel label generated by a spreadsheet pulling data from RMS. What is the procedure to have a sidebar from which to print a label with the ticket number, customer name and telephone, and reason for needing service? I could tweak the Excel file to add enhancements but why should I do all of that vs. using RMS. |

It sounds like a customization project. May be somewhat expensive for a small store operation. |

I wonder about taking the fields entered on the customer ticket and placing them on the customer label (sticky for the thermal label printer). The Excel label might be the thing.
At the store we've kicked around various alternatives to RMS including repair-shop related software. We just want to have something that will be around five or ten years from now and not a fly-by-night program. Viewing one ticket then another is clumsy and another reason for seeking other POS softwares. |
